WOSKKA is pleased to welcome Sensei George Venkov into its family. Sensei Venkov is WOSKKA's first representation outside of the United States.
About George Venkov
George Venkov was born in 1989 in Sofia, the capital of Republic of Bulgaria within a family of an actress and martial artist.
His father George Venkov Snr. is one of the pioneers of the Bulgarian Karate since 1973. In 1990 he became a charter member of the Bulgarian National Karate Federation, member of the board of directors.
George Venkov has been practicing Shotokan Karate Do from the age of 5 at “Karate Club George” in Sofia, under the directions of his father Shihan George. In 2006 George Venkov was promoted to Shodan (1st Dan Black Belt) in Shotokan Karate Do. In the same year he was invited to Australia with a sports scholarship for tennis from Pro-One Tennis Academy situated on the Gold Coast, where he began his studies for a Sports Development Officer.
Along with his professional tennis career, George continued practicing Shotokan Karate, Kick Boxing and Boxing and followed the path of Kobudo with the traditional Okinawan weapon Nunchaku. On the 12.03.2008 George was promoted to Nidan (2nd Dan Black Belt) by “Shotokan Karate-Do Club George”. In 2010 his father Shihan George Venkov visited Australia and George Jnr. continued improving his skills in the Martial Arts under his direct guidance. Both were visiting various karate schools in Australia, taking part in seminars and meeting Masters from different styles of the martial arts.
Grand Master Larry Ordonio, 10th Dan President of the International Combative Martial Arts Association promoted George to Sandan (3rd Dan Black Belt) in Shotokan Karate Do. George Venkov Jnr. currently resides in Gold Coast, Australia.
